Vegetation Setbacks: Trees and heavy overhanging limbs surrounding the roofline are surveyed semi-annually and cut back to eliminate mechanical impact threats and limb-throw hazards during cyclonic events.

Deployment Trigger: Heavy aluminum window coverings are staged and fully installed across all vulnerable openings immediately upon any official forecast predicting a Category 2 or higher hurricane.
Missile Mitigation; Vehicle Staging: Secure or internally store all loose outdoor items. Vehicles are to be parked at the highest elevation closest to the home, positioned strategically to act as wind and debris shields for the structure.
Retention Standard: To mitigate risk from late-forming systems or unexpected track shifts, window coverings are strictly maintained and not uninstalled until the Atlantic basin is fully cleared of active threats.

Engineered Shedding

System Improvements: The gutter framework was systematically overhauled and expanded to handle severe, high-velocity downpours typical of tropical systems, ensuring swift shedding away from the fascia and foundation.
Pre-Storm QA: Standard operations require clearing all downspouts and gutter runs immediately prior to any severe weather envelope to prevent pooling and wall-cavity intrusion.

Routine Compliance

Quarterly Detector Audits: All hardwired and battery-operated smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors undergo mandatory functional testing and sensor checks on a strict quarterly schedule.
Suppression Preparedness: A fully charged, commercial-grade Class ABC multi-purpose fire extinguisher is maintained in a central, high-visibility location, inspected regularly for operational charge pressure.

Operational Redundancy

On-Site Auxiliary Generator: Maintain on-site generator assets dedicated to powering essential refrigeration. Generator fuel tanks and extra storage containers must be filled to capacity prior to storm landfall.
Emergency Water & Sanitation: 55-gallon emergency water reserves are maintained on-site, staged with dedicated buckets for manual gravity-flushing of toilets during municipal water outages.
Moisture & Heat Management: Execute post-storm envelope inspections for water intrusion to prevent micro-climate mold incubation during extended grid outages.
